Our Programs

The Department of Cellular and Integrative Physiology is home to the Summer Physiology Undergraduate Research (SPUR) Program, the Ph.D. Physiology and Pharmacology Discipline and has joint Ph.D. programs with the School of Medicine and Dentistry.

This program integrates the study of fundamental mechanisms of normal and disease function at the molecular, cellular and organ/system levels to spur discoveries; leading to new and improved treatments for human disease. Tuition reimbursement and a yearly stipend is available.

The Neuroscience discipline provides training in areas ranging from molecular, cellular, and neurochemical to systems, behavioral, and clinical, all focused on regulation and function of the nervous system.

The Biology of Aging track encompass lectures and laboratory experience in molecular, cellular, and physiological mechanisms of aging, thereby preparing students to thrive at a unique interface of bioscience and medicine.

This ten week research program is designed for highly motivated college undergraduate students with a keen interest in research careers in biomedical science.

This dual degree program is a seven-to nine-year program, in which students complete two years in the School of Medicine, then embark full-time on their Ph.D. dissertation research for three to five years and then students will finish their final two years in the School of Medicine.

The Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) program gives students the opportunity to obtain a D.D.S. degree and Ph.D. with a focus in an area related to Craniofacial oral-biology.
